A 42-year-old man from Monroe, Washington was arrested and charged for allegedly plotting to kill his Filipina wife.
The crime was revealed by a text message he reportedly sent to the wrong person – his former boss.
Jeffery Lytle has been married to a Filipina from Pilar, Abra named Rhoda Mee Funtanilla for more than 6 years now.
According to the Snohomish Country sheriff’s office, Jeffrey allegedly texted someone by the name of “Shayne,” asking him to kill his Filipina wife and their 4-year-old Fil-Am daughter.
The text said: “Hey Shayne hows it going. You remember you said that you would help me kill my wife. I’m going to take you on that offer.”
Jeffery also mentioned that his wife’s life insurance is worth $1 million, and if “Shayne” wanted a bonus he can also kill “JL”, referring to their daughter Jazzmine Lyle.
In the text, Jeffery reportedly requested “Shayne” to make it look like a robbery gone wrong or make it appear like an accident.
In return, Jefferey texted that he will split everything with “Shayne” 50/50.
The unintended recipient immediately called 9-1-1 and reported the unusual text to the police – according to local reports.
Jeffery was arrested and charged last Wednesday with domestic violence, and two counts of criminal solicitation for murder in the first degree. His bond was set at $1 million.
Reports also say that Jeffery told investigators that he wrote the text to “vent” — but never intended to press the send button.
He also reportedly said that his daughter may have sent the text to his former boss.
Reports also say that when authorities called wide Rhoda Mee at work, she did confirm that she has been married to Jeffery since 2010.
She also confirmed that she has life insurance, and that there were financial issues at home.
ABS-CBN has reached out to Rhoda Mee, but she has not responded at this time.
