SF city appoints first Fil-Am councilman
In the San Francisco Bay Area, the American Canyon City Council has just appointed its first Filipino-American city council member.
David Oro took his oath of office recently alongside his wife, Patricia, and children Mya, Oscar and Leah.
Oro, an 11-year resident of American Canyon and a corporate communications specialist, will serve out the last two years of Belia Ramos’ term.
In his application before the city council, Oro says he wants to focus his efforts in addressing issues on traffic, schools, growth and economic development.
