LOS ANGELES–Fourteen months after her son Tony Boy Lejano was acquitted and released from jail as one of prime suspect of the Vizconde Massacre in 1991, actress Pinky de Leon said she is now happier and her life is full of love.
Now married to Tom Coyle, a businessman from Los Angeles for almost 5 years, de Leon said everyday is like Valentine’s day.
“I just take one day at a time and I try to enjoy every day that I am living. I just thank God for what I have,” said de Leon.
The multi-awarded actress and singer, who had a successful 30-years career in the Philippines how business, said lost everything when her eldest son was imprisoned for 15 years.
But de Leon admits she was at her lowest when she found the real meaning of love.
“The number one love of my life is of course my God,” said de Leon. “Knowing that he is there while I am going through all the trials in my life and He picked me up and carried me through.”
She said that the love for her children, especially for Tony Boy who is still looking for a job as he rebuilding his life, is also stronger than ever.

Footsteps In The Sand
One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him
he looked back, at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:
“LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you’d walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.”
The LORD replied:
“My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you,
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”
