Las Vegas, Nevada - Miss Universe candidates invaded the Elvis 80′s show at the brand new Aria Hotel In Las Vegas.
As soon as the beauties were spotted, people flocked to the entrance to try and get some rare photos. Onlookers enjoyed the sight of 83 of the most gorgeous women of the world. The contestants hit different spots in Las Vegas. They blew kisses to everyone and had glowing smiles for the crowd.
After the show, the beauties trooped to the new Aria Mall and did a walk through displaying their best assets.
Miss Philippines Venus Raj was glowing in her apple green pants suit. Contrary to rumors that some of Raj’s outfits were borrowed, the pinay beauty says all her wardrobe for the Las Vegas events are new.
Miss Philippines Venus Raj said, “The president of BB Pilipinas Stella Araneta who is in Las Vegas for the pageant says all of my clothing are designer outfits from New York and Italy and some were made by Colombian designer Alfredo Barraza.’”
The preliminary judging has begun. Some candidates admit it is going to be a tough contest.
Reigning Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez said she has had the time of her life the past 12 months. She visited over 30 countries doing one photo shoot after another and helping the poor children of the world.
The Venezuelan beauty is a little bit sad it is all ending now and she will be passing the crown to the next winner.
Fernandez said this year’s contestants are extremely attractive and talented. She added that it will be very hard for the judges to pick the next Miss Universe.
The preliminary competition for the Miss Universe will be held Friday at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Judges will be selecting their top 15 semi finalists. However, the results will not be released to the public.

@ladi…sa totoo lang tama si Venus na di naman maganda ang America eh lalo na kung sa California ka rin lang titira kasi nga sa sobrang dami TSISMOSO AT TSIMOSA na Pilipino…kaya kung pupunta ka rin lang ng America eh hwag sa California kasi parang di ka na rin umalis ng Pinas nyan…so kung ganun din lang eh mas makakabuting sa Pinas ka na lang dahil mas maganda pa kesa sa America… Ang kaibahan lang kasi ang Climate at ang Green Money.
@geovit, kahit sino kakabahan kapag finals na lalo’t ang lahat ay tahimik na nakikinig sa sasabihin mong sagot sa question. Siguro naman kahit ikaw ang tumayo sa kalagayan ni Venus eh malamang na kabahan ka rin at baka pa nga puro AH at EH ang madinig sa pagsagot mo.
There was an interview with Venus where she was (I think) irritated seeing so many filipinos. The interview took place in LA and she was saying there was so many filipinos everywhere she goes and then she said that when she was in the philippines she tought America was nice. I saw that interview and it to me her finishing sentence was akala nya maganda sa Amerika ayan pala ang daming pinoy. Then again I could be wrong.. but I was wondering where I can see that clip and un edited.

It’s a bit disappointing, though, that Venus had to wear outfits from a Colombian designer. Representing our country in the pageant would have been a great opportunity to showcase the creations of our talented local fashion designers.
