LAS VEGAS–Sin City played host to Martin Nievera’s “Concert for Sendong”, a fundraiser of the ABS-CBN Foundation Sagip Kapamilya on Sunday at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.

Hundreds of kababayans from all over Southern Nevada and California came to see the concert king, and to help the victims of the tragedy.

“I know that there were a lot of our kapamilya back home who actually went to Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City and all over Mindanao to help. This is my part in helping,” said Nievera.

Martin shared the stage with his dad Bert Nievera, Jasmine Trias and The Society of Seven.

“It’s an important event to support,” said Trias. “We have to support our kapamilyas back in the Philippines, especially when tragedies like sending happens”

Robbie Fabian, President of ABS-CBN Foundation International said the he is thankful for the support of the artists and of the attendees.

“Martin and the artists were not paid. This is a pro-bono outpouring of support from a lot of people. It’s really overwhelming but also very reassuring because we know that tragedies like this will happen again,” said Fabian.
