Beverly Hills, Calif. – Boxing champ and now Philippine Congressman Manny Pacquiao is back in
the U.S. for the first time since March. The Pacman kicked off a media tour for his upcoming fight against Mexico’s Antonio Margarito.
The two will battle for the vacant World Boxing Council Super Welterweight Championship. The fight will take place on November 13 at the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Texas. The stadium will be ready for 70,000 spectators. Tickets will go on sale September 18. Prices range between $50 to $700.
The Sarangani congressman told reporters, “WhatI want right now is to maintain my peak in boxing and I want to be an idol in public service, not only in boxing but also a public servant.”
At the press conference, reporters pressed Pacquiao on several issues including, the bus hostage incident in Manila which left eight Hong Kong tourist dead. Pacquiao expressed his condolences to the victims, and told Balitang America that he wants an investigation.
The Pound for Pound King kept the door open on the possibility of fighting against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao said he’s willing to fight anyone.
The Pacman and Margarito will continue their media tour in New York Wednesday. The duo will end up in Texas on Thursday and watch a Dallas Cowboys football game with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Thursday night. They will wrap up the media tour on Friday.
Pacquiao will return to the Philippines this weekend where he will begin his training. He returns to the U.S. in October to finish up his training before the November 13 fight.
