SAN FRANCISCO – Filipinos joined dozens of people who staged a protest in front of the Apple Computer retail store along Stockton Street last Friday.
Led by the Black Economic Council, the protesters said Apple may now be “too big to regulate” — saying the largest technology firm in the U.S. profitted over $25 billion last year, with a cash hoard of over $65 billion.
Protesters pointed out that despite Apple’s success, the company has failed to give back to the American people.
Bautista asked, “Has Apple become too big to bite? 110 million minorities denied job opportunities don’t think so.”
Protesters claimed Apple also refuses to do business with small minority and women-owned businesses. They also accuse Apple of exploiting foreign workers who work up to 100 hours a week and are forced to stand up to 14 hours a day.

@Moniquerustia, you should know that Apple outsourced the jobs of making the Ipads, Iphone, Mac computers to China. The parts and accesories also in China and Taiwan. So don’t tell those protesters to go to China.
If you’re a Filipino am sure you don’t know anything about the Filipinos. Most Filipinos are educated and hardworker especially those that migrated to another country. we’re not whiners but protest only when we were being taken advantage. So just shut up.
Why don’t they protest against the Cathilic Church instead. It is the largest and the richest corporation in the world and yet it has not given significant help to the poor people that has given it its main power and wealth?
Where did the Catholic Church help in reducing the widespread problems in employment?
